WRITE.

I get asked how I write, so here's the answer in one place.

The worlds are mine. The plots, the characters, the family histories, the endings: mine. Every decision about what happens in these books and who these people are came out of my head.

I use AI tools in my process. They help me with structure, brainstorming, catching what isn't working, marketing copy and graphics, and the endless administrative work of being an author. At the sentence level, I use them as something to push against, to argue with, to help me find the better version of a line I'd already decided to write.

Nothing goes out of this house that I haven't chosen, word by word.

I know some readers draw the line somewhere else. That's fair, and I'd rather you know now than feel misled later. But I'm not going to pretend I make books some other way than I do, and I'm not particularly interested in arguing about it. My hand is on every part of this.
